TASMANIAN MINIBIKE/CYCLE TRAINING CLUB INC
This Club is for girls and boys up to
and including sixteen years of age. Its aim is to channel the
enthusiasm of young people with mini-bikes in the right direction within
a safe environment and increase their riding skills.
The Club meets every
second Sunday, February to early December, at Elderslie, on land made
available by a local farmer.
There are 5
different circuits and skill-building obstacles with the emphasis on
friendly social riding rather than intense competition. Riders are
divided into groups according to their ability.
To operate
effectively the club relies heavily on the help given by parents and
guardians. It is a Club rule that a responsible adult must accompany
riders. The adults help by acting as marshals and scorers or assisting
with maintenance of the track and other facilities.
It is BYO
lunch and refreshments, but many families make use of the barbecue
facilities at the clubhouse.
The annual
membership fee is $50 for the 1st rider and $10 for every
additional rider in the same family, plus $10 per rider per ride day.
Mini-bikes
are limited to a maximum of 4 stroke 150cc & 2 stroke 100cc capacity at
the Club complex (wheel size restrictions apply). Each rider must have
an approved motorbike helmet, goggles, gloves and boots with no laces,
and wear long trousers and long sleeves. Whilst it is not necessary to
buy expensive motorbike boots and trousers, most riders eventually
decide to save up and buy them.
Track
meetings at Elderslie start at 10.30am and finish at 3.00pm. St Johns
Ambulance is in attendance at every meet.
All persons
attending any meeting do so entirely at
their own risk; motorbike riding is a dangerous sport
and can result in injury and/or death.
